LYSOL: Keep Your Homes Clean and Healthy
Everybody wants a nice, clean home to go to at the end of the day. But more so, we all want a healthy home. And for us to be able to create and have that healthy home, we need to get rid of germs that can cause various illnesses to our family. That is why it should be our top priority to know that cleaning and disinfecting are two different things.
In cleaning, we remove germs from surfaces using soap and water. However, we should know that cleaning alone doesn’t kill germs. There are still germs that might be left behind. What we need to do then is to disinfect the surfaces of our house because it is the only way to actually kill germs. Here are the basic guidelines that you need to remember for reducing germs in your home and keeping your family healthy.
Buy a good, effective disinfectant. Make sure that the product you choose to buy says “disinfectant” and always check its label for an EPA registration number. This is the only way to ensure that the product you are using has met EPA requirements and thus, can really kill germs.
Disinfect your house everyday. It will be a lot easier to control germs when you make quick disinfections in your house everyday. Always use disinfecting wipes on your kitchen countertops as well as on your bathroom faucets and handles. Never forget to include sink surfaces in your daily disinfection routine. This not only eliminates the germs, but also makes your cleaning day a lot simpler.
Clean spills as soon as possible. Do not allow spills to just dry on your home’s surfaces. When you clean spills on your kitchen countertops or refrigerators as soon as they happen, you kill germs and thus prevent cross-contamination. When you disinfect these areas early on, you not only prevent germ growth but also stop them from spreading to food, hands, and other kitchen surfaces.
Avoid using things that harbor germs. As much as possible, use paper towels and disposable wipes for your kitchen rather than sponges and cloths because these can keep germs by providing them with a moist place to grow. But if you do use sponges or cloth towels in your kitchen, always keep in mind to soak them in hot water after every use.
These are the essential things that you need to do to ensure you and your family’s welfare and prevent diseases caused by germs. So, remember to clean and disinfect to keep your home not only nice and clean but healthy for your family too.
